Voyager 1 Now Farthest Man-Made Object from the Sun

After visiting Jupiter and Saturn and headed toward interstellar space, the Voyager 1 space probe has journeyed farther from the Sun than any other man-made object. Voyager 1 has been going strong for 27 years, and is expected to continue sending back valuable scientific data until 2020. Its sister probe, Voyager 2, visited Uranus and Neptune before heading off to interstellar space in the opposite direction.
