Blogs Struggle to Track Election Results

As you might expect, political blogs are busy ramping up to track election results as the first polls close in a couple of hours from now. Technorati, Feedster and Blogpulse all have special sections dedicated to tracking the hottest political blogs and news websites.

Meanwhile, reports are surfacing that the top political blogs are crashing due to high traffic. As of 5:11 PM this evening, Instapundit was unavailable, and Daily Kos and the Drudge Report are just creaking along. Since many of these blogs use collective services such as Blogger.com, high traffic directed their way may affect other blogs as well. The (liberal) MyDueDiligence had no trouble loading, but the (conservative) PowerLine seems to be dicey now.
